4L vs ecH. [6v6]

Here’s the class list for tonight’s tournament match! Like any 6v6 there were a few class changes but these were the primary classes for each player.

Round One:

Unfortunately, the first round didn’t go so well for 4L. It was what we in the TF2 community often refer to as a roll. Here’s the scoreboard for the first round!

Round Two:

4L put up a bit more of a fight during the second round but still lost the round to Echelon. They put up a great fight at last! I somehow managed to get distracted by the people in TS and missed taking a screenshot at the end of round two. :3

Round Three:

This was a rough one. Echelon managed to get a string of back-caps and won all the points very quickly. Here’s the scoreboard for round three.

Round Four:

4L pulled it together in the fourth round and really started to push back! 4L capped the first two points quickly then prepped for last. 4L fought valiantly at last but Echelon managed to back-cap and steal the final cap from 4L. There was a bit of a tug of war with the second point but 4L came out victorious and utilized an uber to take out the opposing team at last and win the round! Jessi74 was top scorer with 23 points, followed by Revenant with 17 points and Dable with 16 points. Here’s the scoreboard for the fourth round.

Round Five:

Echelon managed to come out victorious once more against 4L in the fifth round. Here’s the scoreboard for the fifth round.

Round Six:

4L capped mid starting off but were back-capped after the medic was taken out. They managed to take mid point back from Echelon for a while but ended up losing it again. Echelon pushed forward but 4L put up an amazing defensive fight. The match was long and intense but Echelon ended up being the victorious team, winning them tonight’s match. Here’s the scoreboard for the final round.

Although we didn’t win the match tonight, and it took a while for them to warm up, the boys did a good job. Pittbully [who wasn’t able to play in the match tonight] watched the majority of the match and was extremely proud of how well the team did. He kept commenting on how great they were doing and pointed out all of the good tactical decisions that they were making. Despite tonight’s loss, we definitely have a 6v6 team to be proud of!

Missed the 6v6 last night but I was told that we lost the match. I feel like I started the write-ups at the worst time! Haha. Highlander season is over and I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to watch the matches! Anyway, I’m finally done with school so I shouldn’t be missing anything from here on out!

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do a write-up for the Highlander match tonight as I have a 6-page paper due tomorrow as well as a final exam in the morning. I’ll make sure to post the results though!

4L vs 101 [6v6]

The 4L 6v6 team played a close match against 101 tonight on cp_snakewater. There was a constant tug of war with the points but in the end, 4L lost when the time ran out and the score was 4 [101] to 3 [4L]. There were quite a bit of class changes throughout the various rounds so it’s hard to say exactly who was playing what class but Pink Poodle took an awesome screenshot that perfectly illustrates who was maining which class! [Thank you Miss Poodle!]

Round One:

4L pushed hard in the first round only letting 101 cap once throughout the entire round. After an uber battle at the center point, 4L managed to take the point from 101 then pushed them back one point at a time. Here’s the scoreboard for the first round. Dable was top scorer with 31 points. Pine Beetle and Pittbully were tied for second with 14 points each.

Round Two:

Round two was much like the first! 101 took the center point starting off and their soldier almost capped the second point but Jakyle and Revenant teamed up on him and took him out just before the cap. 4L pushed up and took the center point shortly after then proceeded to push forward and cap the rest of the points. Here’s the scoreboard for the second round. Dable and Pittbully were tied for top scorer with 10 points each, followed by Jakyle with 9 points.

Round Three:

101 started playing a bit more aggressively in the third round, taking the first point right away then quickly pushing up and capping the second point. There was an uber battle at the second point and 4L managed to take out the opposing Medic. They almost took the second point back from 101 but a Scout back-capped and took last before they were able to take the point. Here’s the scoreboard for the third round.

Round Four:

The fourth round was similar to the third. 4L was forced to play a bit more defensively this round. They were unable to push any of the points but put up a good fight at last. However, 101 had uber advantage at the last point and were able to cap the point, tying the scores up between 4L and 101. Here’s the scoreboard for the fourth round.

Round Five:

4L played a bit more aggressively in the fifth round. 101 wasn’t able to cap a single point throughout the round. There was a great fight at the second point and Revenant managed to back-cap and win the match quickly for 4L. Here’s the scoreboard for the fifth round. Pittbully was top scorer with 11 points. Dable and Revenant were tied for second with 6 points each.

Round Six:

There was a ton of tug of war going on with the points in the sixth round. It was a long but amazing fight. There was a lot of great offense and defense for both of the teams. 4L pushed hard for the first portion of the round, almost capping the last point, but 101 pushed back, and managed to back-cap two points while 4L was fighting for other points. There was a great fight over mid, but 101 won out and proceeded to take the second point. 4L pushed 101 all the way back to their last point but were unable to hold it. 101 slowly pushed 4L back to their last point and, after an amazing fight, managed to take out everyone in 4L and capped the last point. Here’s the scoreboard for the sixth round.

Round Seven:

There was another great tug of war battle with the points during the seventh round. Each team managed to push all the way to the other’s final point but, in the end, 101 managed to push 4L back and cap their final point. Here’s the scoreboard for the final round.

I apologize that the write-up isn’t extremely detailed tonight! The match didn’t start until midnight and I don’t feel like staying up all night to do a ridiculously detailed write-up. I tried to summarize the rounds to the best of my sleepy ability [but there were so many of them]!

4L vs [REF] ~ UGC MATCH:

4L played some amazing matches against [REF] tonight for the UGC tournament. They played on pl_upward and only had to play 4 out of the 6 possible rounds.

Round One:

4L played defensive RED for the first round. At the beginning of the round, Mr. Dickking, PTK, Jakyle, TehKingz, and Ninja Steave all suicided to provide Reggob with ammo needed to build a quick level three sentry. BLU ubered their Demo [5:10] and RED’s Medic [jessi74] counter-ubered the Heavy [M.W.A.G.F.] which prevented BLU from taking out the first level three sentry. Reggob’s wrangled sentry did an amazing job holding BLU back, causing them to cap the first point @2:24. BLU pushed hard and stayed on the cart, capping the second point @3:48. BLU team’s spy managed to get some good back stabs throughout the round, causing an uber advantage for BLU which they utilized to cap the third point. They capped the third point @5:02 and finished the round off @7:10. Here’s the scoreboard for the first round.

Round Two:

In round two, 4L played offensive BLU. PTK quickly took out their first level three sentry, allowing them to cap the first point with 5:22 on the clock. BLU did their best to stay on the cart all the way to the second point. Mr. Poo used stickies to take out their second level three sentry with 4:13 on the clock, allowing them to cap the second point shortly after @3:56. RED Medic switched from the Medi Gun to the Kritzkrieg for the second round. They popped uber on their Soldier and Demoman @3:29 but were too close together [in the building under RED’s first re-spawn area] which caused a quick slaughter of four of the RED teammates [the Heavy, Soldier, Demoman, and Medic] due in part to a well-timed Jarate by Mr. Dickking, which saturated the Demoman, and some fantastic back stabs by TehKingz. Mr. Dickking got a quick headshot on the enemy Sniper shortly after, causing RED to be down five teammates for a short period of time, and allowing BLU to stay on the cart without the threat of being bombarded by the other team. Throughout the second round, Reggob consistently dropped mini-sentries around the cart, helping keep RED at bay. They capped the third point with 2:23 left on the clock. Jakyle stayed on the cart and almost capped the last point but the RED Demoman managed to take him out just before the final cap. Shortly after, TehKingz, Mr. Poo, and Mr. Dickking rushed the cart and capped the last point with 0:48 left on the clock resulting in a win for 4L for the first match. Here’s the scoreboard for the second round. TehKingz was top scorer for BLU with 16 points, and jessi74 and Jakyle were tied for second with 15 points each.

They took a short half-time break before the third round started.

Round Three:

4L played offensive BLU for the third round, giving them the opportunity to set the time limit for the second match. BLU popped uber on M.W.A.G.F. [4:48], pushing RED back. RED popped uber on their Pyro [4:36] but were unable to prevent PTK from quickly taking out RED’s first level three sentry. Seven of the BLU teammates were spread out around the cart, allowing them to cap the first point @0:57. BLU ubered Mr. Poo in order to take out the second level three sentry, at the second point, and RED attempted to counter-uber their Heavy but the Medic, who had switched back to the Medi Gun, was too late and was forced to uber the Scout instead. Mr. Poo and jessi74 managed to take out the sentry, allowing BLU to cap the second point @2:04. BLU stayed on the cart and capped the third point @3:17. Ninja Steave did a great job spy-checking around the cart throughout the match, keeping the RED spy from getting back stabs on BLU teammates. Jakyle crouched down behind the cart and almost managed to cap the last point but was back stabbed by the enemy spy. At the last point, jessi74 ubered M.W.G.A.F. and took out a good portion of the RED team, allowing Reggob, jessi74, and M.W.G.A.F. to cap the last point @4:19. Here’s the scoreboard for the third round. Jakyle was the top scorer with 16 points, followed by jessi74 with 15 points, and Mr. Poo with 14 points.

Round Four:

For the last round, 4L played defensive RED. A few RED teammates suicided again to provide Reggob with the ammo needed to build a level three sentry. BLU didn’t waste any time, and popped uber with 4:09 on the clock, but were held back by M.W.G.A.F. and jessi74. BLU team took down the first level three sentry then utilized the Buff Banner to cap the first point with 3:00 left on the clock. RED managed to keep them off the cart, and popped an uber on M.W.A.G.F. @1:22, pushing BLU back from the second point. BLU popped an uber on their Demoman @0:49, taking out Reggob’s level three sentry and capping the second point @0:44. BLU did their best to push the cart, but jessi74 popped an uber on Mr. Poo and RED couldn’t make it to the third point before time ran out, resulting in an overall victory for 4L. Here’s the scoreboard for the last round.

It was a great set of matches and a flawless victory by 4L!

4L vs [Mi7] Scrim!

Here’s the scoreboard from tonight’s Highlander scrim. I did what I could with the last match but some of the players disconnected before I could get a screenshot. Anyway, these are the scores for each round. Unfortunately, 4L lost both of the scrim matches tonight against [Mi7] but it was a close second match. There was only a 30 second time difference at the end of the last round. They played pl_upward for tonight’s scrim. For the first match their time was 10:37 and for the second match it was somewhere around 6:19 [I’m not sure if that was the other team’s time or 4L’s time but they were close anyway]. I decided tonight that I wanted to keep track of this info from now on so I’ll make sure to pay closer attention next time and provide you with more facts and information on the scrims and other competitive matches.
